A certain degree of influence by the pharmaceutical industry on politics and authorities would not be surprising. The examples of large pharmaceutical companies directly influencing political decision-makers, ministries and authorities are too blatant. And thus decisions were made in favor of the industry. Paid specialists, bought-in experts, influenced politicians - independent decisions do not seem to be a matter of course in the healthcare system.
