Formerly Prince Tchao-sin loved Princess Hadjuin-li, but the wicked Lao-Tchang opposed their happiness. Eager to escape him, the two lovers set out for the land of Love where, they were told, clouds never obscured the sun. On the road stood a dragon that sought to lure travelers into its cave.
